Player Biography
Originally a first round pick by Red Sox in 2000, Phil was traded to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for Scott Williamson in 2003. After Tommy John surgery sidelined him for all of the 2004 season, Dumatrait rebounded nicely and began the 2008 season at a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates starting rotation.
While battling injuries throughout much of his career, Dumatrait looks to contribute to the Pirates in 2009.
